Fifteen Cardinal Competitors Post NCAA Regional Qualifying Marks On Final Day Of Stanford Invitational

It was another action packed day of the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field. A meet record 316 athletes posted NCAA Regional Qualifying marks over the two-day competition, with 217 of those marks coming on this second day of competition. There were 15 Cardinal competitors who recorded NCAA Regional Qualifying marks and a first place finish in the men's pole vault on the final day of the meet.

On the men's side Jacob Evans took 14 place out of 94 runners in the 1500 meter run "B" Sections as he posted a time of 3:51.79. In the 1500 meter top sections run Lauren Jespersen posted a tenth place finish in an NCAA Regional Qualifying time of 3:46.86, while Rolf Steier also posted an NCAA Regional Qualifying time of 3:47.63 to finish in 13 place. There were two 30 more NCAA Regional Qualifiers on the men's side after the 5000 meter run, with two of them being Cardinal runners. Jacob Gomez took 24 place in a time of 14:02.80, while Brett Gotcher finished 26 place recording a time of 14:08.45. Over on the infield Feranmi Okanlami took fourth place in the triple jump while posting an NCAA Regional Qualifying Mark of 49-05 (15.06m). Both Michael Robertson (188-06, 57.47m) and Daniel Schaerer (187-06, 57.15m) posted NCAA Regional Qualifying Marks in the discus throw as they placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Graeme Hoste earned the only first place finals finish of the day for the Cardinal as he posted an NCAA Regional Qualifying height in the pole vault of 16-09 ¼ (5.11m).
